The primary version of the programme is currently not set up to be run independently by Digital Leaders. We will continue to review the situation and explore different options, in order to keep our primary school cohort as engaged as possible.
We think this is a perfect time for Digital Leaders not in school to demonstrate the peer-led aspect of the programme and encourage them to use their learning by teaching their families how to stay safe online at home.
In the meantime, we will:
- expand the training programme to students who are still attending school. Just send back the correct signed consent forms and we will enrol them. This won’t affect your school’s existing Digital Leaders.
- provide fun online safety activities to primary school teachers to share with their Digital Leaders. These activities will be emailed to primary school teachers every week.
We will be extending all schools’ subscription end dates to allow for the school closures.
Childnet have lots of useful resources and tools that parents or carers can use to help ensure their children of all ages are safe and happy online. For fun activities and advice, please view the blog post.
