East of England Digital Leaders Regional Event

Published: 11th April 2019

On Wednesday 20 March, with huge success, King’s Ely Junior School in Cambridgeshire hosted the second ever Regional Event!

Last month we had our second Regional Event in Ely, Cambridgeshire. Digital Leaders from King’s Ely Junior, St. Peters School, Norwich High School for Girls and St. Mary’s School were all in attendance. The event was an amazing opportunity for Digital Leaders to meet each other, network, and to collaborate on the best ways to inform parents about online safety issues affecting young people today.

The day kick-started with a warm welcome from one of our fabulous Digital Champions, Bella, from Gresham’s School. After this, Digital Leaders participated in engaging activities with some of the Childnet team. Teachers were also given the opportunity to network with each other and discuss ideas and how the programme is running in their school with the Project Manager, Danielle.

Digital Leaders also received exclusive training on how to present from the Childnet Education Team who present sessions and workshops at schools all over the country. This helped them prepare for their group task later in the day!

King’s Ely Juniors – thank you for being excellent hosts to the Childnet Digital Leaders team and thank you to the other Digital Leaders in attendance. You demonstrated true dedication to help others stay safe online and are fantastic role models. We’d also like to thank your teachers for coming with you on the day and for playing a crucial part in the activities.
